Main:
Function table
Zeros of a function
Graphic of functions
Linear, quadratic and cubic functions
Example 1
Olli works in the store on weekends and some weekday evenings. Olli earns €12 per hour. His working hours were: January 40, February 30 and March 45.
a) Calculate how much Olli gets paid each month.
b) Create a function f(x) that expresses Olli's monthly salary when the number of hours in a month is denoted by the variable x.
c) Draw the graph of the function f(x).
Example 2
Consider the function f(x) = -18x + 3
a) Calculate the value of the function when x = -3
b) Determine f(12).
c) At what value of the variable x is the value of the function f(x)=-27?
d) Calculate the zero of the function.
Example 3
a) From the graph, determine the value of the function f(-1).
b) See on the graph what is the value of the variable x when the function gets the value -2.
c) Determine the zero points of the function from the graph.
Example 4
a) Draw the graph of the function f(x) = -x³ - x²+ 3x in the CAS mode of GeoGebra.
b) Solve the equation f(x) = 1. Round the answer to three decimal places.
c) How do the solutions from part b) appear in the graph?
